Along the Lightrail

"This is your stop." ~ Colson Whitehead, from The Colossus of New York

Thanks for checking out Southern Illinois Along the Light Rail. We'll be stopping here frequently to discuss our travels on the lightrail system of our region. Our blog posts will focus primarily on our experiences riding the metrolink system between Scott Air Force Base to the Eads Bridge, which connects East St. Louis, IL, to St. Louis, MO. When we are not traveling the rails, we'll use this blog as a way to share our observations of the sites, the people, and the culture that we encounter at every stop along the way.

Here is a general outline of the ideas we'll be discussing as our project unfolds:

● Mondays and Tuesdays will focus on the creative narratives that come
directly from the observations of our travelers through their travel logs.

● Wednesdays will focus on the cultural and social implications of
having a system of public transportation in southern Illinois.

● Thursdays will include periodic special features and news about
lightrail systems around the world.

● Fridays will contain "open threads" and discussions of various
literature about lightrail travel and the larger region.

We hope you'll stop here regularly and participate in our conversations.
